BitTorrent and databases
January 24th, 2005Could BitTorrent be used to share information between disparate databases? For example, I have an SQL database full of information, and you have one too. Now I go searching for something in my database, it is not found, so instead of giving up, it would then look on your database. Any thoughts?

You’d first have to overcome the overwhelming social /technical issues regarding permissions and database access. Read access to a database is something rarely granted to a good friend let alone a network of users, millions strong.
Also - regarding BitTorrent - it lacks a search functionality: enter Exeem.
