Search results safer and more dangerous

December 12th, 2006

If you use Google or AOL for your search, chances are you will be directed to safer sites. Like MSN or Yahoo - well, you are taking some risk, at least according to McAfee Site Advisor.

I like using AOL, because I know my search results are safe from the general public, and I appreciate Google’s data retention policies (the government would never think of going after something Google doesn’t have).

No, I don’t feel safe with MSN or Yahoo, but maybe that is because I have a little script I run on those sites which automatically appends my name, address, SSN, and mother’s maiden name to all search queries?
