Viruses are waning, but malicious malware designed to steal you blind (say financially-oriented trojans) is up dramatically. Yes. Sophos says the virus counts in emails is waning. While this data point is not necessarily indicative of a trend, let’s call it good news and move on.

Congratulations is in order for the morning – Sophos has a new leader. Effective immediately, Steve Munford is the new worldwide Chief Executive Officer of the security firm. Steve was previously COO at the company.
