I am not sure if this is a joke, or if Roy Rivenburg of the LA Times really likes the idiotic prose that we are now seeing attached to spam. But if this article, is true to its word, I hope ol’ Roy receives a lot more.
As users have been and are still being blamed for contributing to the problem, by not keeping their inboxes clear and persistently clicking on spam offers, the last thing we need is someone telling people NOT to delete their spam. That is what ol’ Roy seems to be saying, and I think it is ridiculous.
There are a lot of people out there who don’t understand spam and phishing, and will be quick to blame technology next time their machine crashes or their identity is stolen. Joke or not, we don’t need journalists telling them that spam is anything but a festering sore.
