Nuclear Alma Mater

Several friends caught this story (see U. of Fla. to replace uranium in reactor), then called me to find out what the heck the University Of Florida was doing with an on-campus nuclear reactor. As I spent several years at that fine educational institution (not that you could tell by my writing skills), I will set the record straight.

The reactor is underground, not far from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The exiting water from the cooling system on that reactor is used to cook hot dogs for patrons of the football games.

Any more dumb questions?
