Vigilante justice hits phishers

Everyone knows someone naive enough to click on a phishing lure, cough up their bank account number and mother’s maiden name, and wind up broke. Hackers are noo exception, so they are taking the law into their own hands.

According to Netcraft, sites purporting to be Paypal and NatWest have recently been hit with messages like “WARNING – THIS SITE IS A SCAM SITE.”

I must say I love their work, but I pitty their workload. With more than 6,000 phishing sites already identified using the Netcraft Toolbar, and gajillions more popping up every day, sending a weak message to phishers is about the best one can hope for.
