As part of a rallying cry for unity, and to save the U.S. from falling behind in global technological advancement, politicians are now promising cheap broadband for all.
As Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) put it:
America lags behind other countries that have universal broadband deployment; but the Democrats’ agenda “guarantees” that every American will have affordable access to broadband within five years.
This is obviously a dream come true for the guy who “took the initative in creating the internet.”
I’m all for cheaper broadband, and I agree completely with Ms. Pelosi’s view on competitiveness. But I just have to ask: how is anyone going to get cooperation from the guys who are still looking for MORE money?
