Government doesn’t get disclosure, as they do too much of it

Governments think they are doing folks a public service by embracing technology. But when they opt to post a lot of citizens public information online, they may be doing them more of a dis-service. And I do mean “dis.”

Yes, this hits the person. But my guess is the next arena that is going to suffer is the small business, with states piling on open disclosure of corporate records. They’d be better off charging an arm and a leg for incorporation papers, and making requestors show up in person or via counsel. At least there would be some paper trail. Then again, people are screaming for paper trails with electronic voting machines and few are listening, so why should this post be any different?
