Windows 98 support dies, but vulnerabilities live

I don’t blame Microsoft one bit for letting support for Windows 98 expire. Maybe that is because I skipped it, going from NT 4.0 (which I insisted on cramming onto my old Dell laptops, despite the lack of drivers) straight to 2000 Pro. But eight years of support for an operating system is like centuries in tech time – we may all be better off if people upgrade.

And upgrade is exactly what they may want to do, with critical flaws still appearing.
