Consumers’ mistrust internet security

Get out! A Trend Micro survey suggests consumers are not confident about internet security.

Guess what? Some might start being more careful, and purveyors of goods and services on the net might get their ships tightened up too.

Awareness is a very good thing.

I work for a company that keeps three years of unencrypted customer data. Including such goodies as address, phone number, birth date, drivers licenses number and credit card.

While we do have a website, we are not an online company. People have no idea how insecure their data is. I don’t think being online is particularly worse than any other business model.
