A federal computer security auditor at the Department of Education pleaded guilty to hacking his boss’s computer. The guy put a backdoor on the machine, and then read and shared the supervisor’s email with others. It is obvious the person was unhappy with their life inside, but I doubt they were very good as well.
Anybody smart would have realized that knowledge of internal workings at a big government agency would be worth a mint in the private sector. The government always needs security help, and companies galore are clamoring for that business. No foresight there.
Now he will get a big fine, and a few years in jail. When he comes out, he can be a spammer or phisher, and that is about it.
