Trend Micro gets more anti-spyware

There is plenty of love for internet security companies nowadays, and anti-spyware purveyors are no exception. Trend Micro just announced they have purchased anti-spyware startup InterMute, for a reported $15 million. Intermute makes enterprise level spyware software, including AdSubtract (which blocks paid sponsorships within search results).

Other recent deals have included Microsoft’s acquisition of Giant Company Software Inc., and Sunbelt Software’s purchase of spyware sniffing techology from Prospect Smarter.
